Comic-Con peaks on Saturday, and so did our photo coverage.  See also Part 8 and Part 9, and for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday see Part 1Part 2Part 3Part 4Part 5Part 6 and Part 7.

The scene outside was bustling all day.   This steampunk costume and a pink-haired fan with handcuffs and a riding crop added to the ambience.

Showtime had a big presence at the show, including sponsoring wraps on the shuttle buses, many for shows you wouldn’t normally think of as geek material, like Shameless, and here, House of Lies.

Another Showtime bus wrap, this one for Homeland.

A band gives an impromptu performance outside the convention center.

The Lady Sif looks ready for a fight--look out!

By Saturday, the evangelicals were attracting counter-demonstrators.

Some with geek themes, like these youngsters.

Others were all over the map, like this trio bearing signs that read: "Cthulhu Likes to Party," "Shaving is a Sin," and "Ride Bikes and Hail Satan" (we don’t think they were together).

This Road Warrior-esque character is promoting a post-apocalyptic festival. He would have looked better if his hair straps weren’t showing.

A unique character across from the Convention Center.

This outdoor installation promoting Tim Burton's Frankenweenie was only one part of the elaborate promotion for the film, which also included a major display of figures and sets from the film on the exhibit floor.
