ICv2 previewed the Yu-Gi-Oh! Tins and a new double-wide Deck Box planned for 2012 at last week’s Comic-Con.  The four new tins for this year will be released in two waves, with the first pair shipping on August 14 and the second on October 30.  The tins will have a suggested retail price of $19.99 each.  The Deck Box will be available on September 25th with a suggested retail price of $7.99.

The first wave of tins includes the Heroic Champion – Excalibur tin and the Evolzar Dolkka tin.  Each tin features embossed artwork in the Yu-Gi-Oh! style representing the monsters, and includes a matching Secret Rare card.  Each tin also includes four variant cards and five booster packs: three Photon Shockwave packs and two Galactic Overlord packs.

These packs have been very popular with fans, according to Konami Vice President Card Business Yumi Hoashi.  "Photon Shockwave is still doing really, really strongly, and that was a November of last year release," she said.  "And Galactic Overlord is one of our best-selling boosters of all time, too.  All of our releases seem to be additional sales each time, and we’re still selling out. We’re printing more with each subsequent release, and we’re still selling out."

The second wave of tins will include the Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo and the Hieratic Sun Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis tins.  These tins will also come packed with a matching Secret Rare, five boosters, and the usual variant cards.

In September, Konami will also release a new double-wide Deck Box.  The box will be the same style as the version released in January, 2011, but with a completely revamped design featuring Zexal-themed artwork. The box will feature a magnetic closure, two card trays, and two index boards.
