Warner Bros. and Legendary have set May 16, 2014 as the premiere date for the new Godzilla movie, the companies announced.  The film, planned as a "gritty, realistic" take on the iconic property, was originally slated for 2012 (see "David Goyer to Write 'Godzilla'").

It will be directed by Gareth Edwards, from a script by David Goyer, among others.
