NBC has released a first clip from 1313 Mockingbird Lane, Bryan (Pushing Daisies) Fuller’s attempt to reboot the 1960s sitcom The Munsters.  In addition to the clip, NBC has also released a number of stills from the pilot.  Both the stills and the clip reveal a very different take on the venerable sitcom.

NBC plans to air the pilot for 1313 Mockingbird Lane as a "Halloween Special" on October 26th at 8pm (ET, PT) right before Grimm.  Inside reports indicate that NBC doesn’t expect the pilot to garner enough audience and critical interest to get the series picked up--the network appears to be just attempting to recoup some of the more than $10 million that it has invested in the project that it has been developing over the past several years (see "'Munsters' Reboot Pilot Will Air as Halloween Special").

The most obvious difference between Mockingbird Lane and the original Munsters is the treatment of Herman Munster, who sported heavy Frankenstein makeup in the 1960s original, but the stills revealed on Blastr show 1313 Mockingbird Lane’s Herman played by Jerry O’Connell  (standing on the left in the accompanying photo) essaying the role without the monster makeup.
