Bryan Singer has been signed to direct X-Men: Days of Future Past, according to Deadline, in addition to his current roles as producer and writer of a treatment.  Singer directed the first two X-Men films so is intimately familiar with the franchise.

Singer is replacing Matthew Vaughn, who pulled out last week (see "Vaughn Out as next 'X-Men' Director").  Vaughn will probably remain involved as a producer, according to the report.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is scheduled to be released July 18, 2014; with the quick replacement for Vaughn, the studio hopes to still make that date.
