Archaia Publishing will release the original graphic novel Hawken: Genesis, based on the upcoming Meteor Entertainment free-to-play online game Hawken, in March 2013. Designed as both a prequel and sourcebook for the online game, Hawken: Genesis is a collaborative effort between writers Khang Le and Jeremy Barlow, illustrated by Kody Chamberlain, Federico Dallocchio, Nathan Fox, Michael Gaydos, Bagus Hutomo, Sid Kotian, Khang Le, Christopher Moeller, Alex Sanchez, Bill Sienkiewicz, and Francisco Ruiz Velasco.
The graphic novel will be promoted with the release of four free digital preview issues released between November 2012 and February 2013, with a new issue arriving each month on comiXology’s iOS, Android, Kindle Fire, and Web-based platforms. The first installment is "Prelude to Run" by Barlow and Velazco. Readers of the previews will receive a special access code for the Hawken online game closed beta event, which will run between November 20 and December 6. This marks the third beta event but the first extended to the graphic novel audience.
