In another sign of the growing resolve at the Big Two to promote their comics and graphic novels on television, Marvel plans a series of interstitials promoting comics with the second season of Ultimate Spider-Man on Disney XD, according to Wired. The interstitials, titled Marvel Comics Close-Up, will be hosted by Marvel CCO Joe Quesada and Disney star Dylan Riley (Kickin’ It) and give kids insider peeks at 10 comics. Some of the titles involved are Ultimate Spider-Man #7, Invincible Iron Man #7, Hulk #3, Thor #364, and Marvel Adventures Spider-Man #16. Free digital comics will be offered on the Disney XD Website as part of the promotion.
Disney made a quick move in ordering a second season of Ultimate Spider-Man (see "Disney Orders a Second Season of 'Ultimate Spider-Man'"), the keystone in Disney XD’s Sunday night Marvel block.
