NBC has ordered nine pilots to bolster its anemic, reality-show heavy lineup ("The Biggest Snoozer") including one based on The Sixth Gun, a supernatural western written by Cullen Bunn, drawn by Brian Hurtt and published by Oni Press. Lost and Nash Bridges producer Carlton Cuse will act as showrunner for the pilot (see "'Lost' Producer Options 'The Sixth Gun'"), which faces stiff competition from the eight other pilots the Peacock Network ordered.
Variety is reporting that Ryan Condal will write the script for the pilot of The Sixth Gun. Bunn and Hurtt have another comic book project, The Damned, in development at Showtime.
