Dynamite Entertainment has confirmed that Andy Diggle (Daredevil, Hellblazer) will write Uncanny, a new series drawn by Aaron Campbell (The Shadow, Green Hornet: Year One) and set to release in June.

A part of Dynamite’s growing Crime Line, Uncanny stars Weaver, a mutant of sorts who can steal other people’s abilities, expertise, and memories, but only for a short time.  Instead of using his powers for the greater good, Weaver, a "gambler, con-man, and thief-for-hire," is too greedy and self-centered to be a hero.  This could change, however, when the plot thickens with "international intrigue" and Weaver finds that his very life is in danger.

The first issue of Uncanny will release with two covers printed in equal quantities, one by Jock (The Losers, Detective Comics) and the other by Sean Phillips (Criminal, Fatale).  In addition, Dan Panosian (Avengers: Citizen Kang) will provide cover art for a special exclusive variant.

Uncanny #1 will retail for $3.99 and will be supplemented by a day-and-date digital release.

The anticipation for a new crime series from Dynamite written by Diggle dates back to October of 2012, when the company announced that it had signed an agreement with the writer (see "Dynamite Signs Andy Diggle").
