Following on the heels of Superior Spider-Man (see "Marvel Reveals 'Superior Spider-Man'"), a new ongoing series called The Superior Foes of Spider-Man will launch in July during Superior Spider-Month, Marvel has announced.

 

The Superior Foes of Spider-Man, written by Nick Spencer (T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents) with art by Eisner Award winner Steve Lieber (Detective Comics), features a team of lesser caliber bad guys, including the Beetle, Overdrive, Shocker, Speed Demon, and Boomerang, who formed the group.

 

These villains, who are trying to "prove once and for all they can make it in the big leagues," were defeated in Superior Spider-Man #1, so they are out for revenge, as well as money and power.

 

Marcos Martin of Amazing Spider-Man fame will provide cover art.
