Top Shelf Productions has revealed that cartoonist Jeffrey Brown is returning to the publisher for his latest autobiographical tale, A Matter of Life.  The full-color hardcover will be 96 pages, retail for $14.95, and, due to its subject matter, is targeted for mature audiences.  A Matter of Life will be published in June.

A story of manhood, fatherhood, and personal history, A Matter of Life finds Brown tackling the personal subjects of life, death, family, faith, and self-identity through the generational lens afforded his father, himself, and his own son, Oscar.

Few creators are as synonymous with a specific publisher, particularly within comics, as Jeffrey Brown is with Top Shelf Productions.  For nearly 15 years, Brown has teamed with Top Shelf to produce works ranging from 2002's Clumsy and I'm Going to Be Small in 2006 to his most recent endeavors with Incredible Change-Bots.  Beyond Top Shelf, Brown has published with Fantagraphics, Simon & Schuster, Marvel, BOOM! Studios, and lastly, Chronicle Books, who distributed his 2012 Darth Vader and Son and will release the sequel, Vader's Little Princess later this month (see "Review: 'Darth Vader and Son'").
