Osprey Publishing, long known for producing lavishly illustrated military history books, is once again plunging into hobby game publishing with its upcoming In Her Majesty’s Name.  The new book is scheduled to release in May.

Set in 1895, In Her Majesty’s Name will be a skirmish-level miniatures wargame with a steampunk feel.  ayers command "Adventuring Companies," teams of secret operatives serving one or more of the Great Powers and fighting over bizarre scientific discoveries and occult artifacts.

Teams are composed of about four to fifteen models, setting this game at the smaller end of the scale for tabletop miniatures.  Scenarios are designed to play quickly, allowing players to resolve multiple battles in a single evening.  The book includes rules for creating one’s own Adventuring Company as well as pre-designed force lists.

In Her Majesty’s Name will be presented as a 64-page paperback book with a suggested retail price of $17.95.  It was written by Craig Cartmell and Charles Murton.

Osprey’s wargaming books have been well-received by the hobby. Its 2012 release, the World War II miniatures game Bolt Action, was recently nominated for the "Best Historical Miniature Rules" Origins Award (see "Origins Nominations Announced").
