The Cartoon Network, which has been troubled with low ratings for much of its schedule, managed to score some impressive gains during the anime-dominated Toonami (Monday-Friday, 5-7pm) and Adult Swim (Sunday-Thursday, 11pm-2am) blocks.  The gains in the Toonami block were spurred by Dragon Ball Z, the series that typically grabs Toonami's biggest audience.  DBZ's ratings were up by over 50% (versus last year) for both tweens 9-14 and boys 9-14.  The other big winner for the Toonami block was Rurouni Kenshin, the action-heavy samurai series, which debuted in March and immediately posted gains of 35% among 9-14 year-olds, and 44% in boys 9-14.

The Adult Swim block gains are even more impressive, with ratings showing more than 100% growth in men 18-24 versus the same time slot's performance last year.  Since premiering in its current form the Adult Swim block rules its time period in the prize male 18-24 demographic, easily topping live late night programming such as Jimmy Kimmel Live, Last Call with Carson Daly, and the Late, Late Show with Craig Kilborn.

Meanwhile the Kids WB continues to dominate Saturday morning ratings thanks to continued strong performances from Yu-Gi-Oh, Static Shock, Jackie Chan Adventures, Pokemon, and The Mummy.
