In just a little over three weeks Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel will open on June 14th and the future of DC Comics and Warner Bros. superhero films should be a lot clearer.   Right now Warner Bros. is pulling out all the stops to make sure that its attempt to revive the Superman franchise is successful when it debuts in the midst of the most competitive summer movie season in Hollywood history.

A potent trailer for the film was released in April (see "'Man of Steel' Trailer Wows").  Yesterday Warners revealed a new poster featuring Russell Crowe as Superman’s biological father Jor-El (see "New 'Man of Steel' Poster With Russell Crowe").

Today the studio released two new character posters that are very similar in style and tone.  One shows Henry Cavill as Superman, while the other features the image of actor Michael Shannon, who plays Superman’s Kyrptonian antagonist General Zod.
