Bushiroad has announced an August 16th release date for the Fate / Zero booster expansion for its Weiss Schwarz collectible card game. This booster-only expansion introduces new characters and events to the game, and can be used to construct complete decks as a stand-alone set.
The new set will include 100 different cards with five rarities, based on the popular Fate / Zero Japanese animated series. Gold foil chase cards will be inserted randomly in the booster packs, featuring autographs from four Japanese voice actors from the animated series.
Each display box of Fate / Zero will include one of five promo cards as an add-on. Each display includes 20 booster packs with eight cards each. Four rubber playmats will be included in each full carton (16 displays), which retailers can use as they wish to promote the game.
The Weiss Schwarz game features artwork and characters from Japanese pop culture properties. Bushiroad began publishing the game in Japan in 2011 and released an English-language version for the US in 2012 (see "Bushiroad's 'Weiss Schwarz' Decks in English").
