Mezco Toys has announced the lineup for its first series of toys based on Axe Cop, the Webcomic that began as a series of stories by a five-year-old boy that were illustrated by his 29-year-old brother. Dark Horse picked up the Webcomic and turned it into a popular print comic. An Axe Cop animated series is slated to debut on Fox on July 27th (see "Voice Cast for 'Axe Cop'"), and Steve Jackson Games has already announced an Axe Cop expansion for its popular Munchkin game (see "'Axe Cop' Expansion for 'Munchkin'")
The four-inch Mezco Axe Cop Figures, which were first announced back in March (see "Mezco Gets 'Axe Cop'"), will all feature five points of articulation. Each figure will come individually packaged in a display friendly blister package covered with Axe Cop artwork.
The figures contained in Series 1 include the eponymous policeman hero, who comes complete with a poopsucker gun (to help conquer Planet Poop), Uni Baby, and a lemon grenade (all the explosive power of a typical grenade but with overtones of lemony freshness). Also due in the first series is Axe Cop’s archenemy Dr. Doo-Doo, who comes with a Doody Soldier and sword, plus clear plastic stands that will allow the figure to achieve a "hovering effect."
Series I also includes Axe Cop’s metamorphosing partner Avocado Soldier, who comes with flute, machine gun, and a removable unicorn horn.
