Surge Licensing, which developed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and currently represents Axe Cop (see "'Axe Cop' Expansion for 'Munchkin'") and Skullkickers (see "Surge Gets 'Skullkickers'"), among others, will represent Steve Jackson Games' Munchkin for merchandising and entertainment, the companies announced. First up for Surge is licensing partnerships, which are "certain to include" toys, collectibles, apparel, accessories, and Halloween costumes.
Surge President Mark Freedman explained the strategy. "Watching the Munchkin brand grow over the years and continue to be the essential humor-based card game, we at Surge can’t wait to offer their fandom everything from action figures to Munchkin Babe Halloween Costumes," he said.
