Disney announced today that it’s claiming a release date for another untitled Marvel movie: July 8, 2016.  Could this be a date for the Doctor Strange movie as part of Marvel’s Phase 3 (see "'Doctor Strange' Movie Confirmed")?  Both stars for Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Capt. America (Chris Evans) are attached to make trilogies, maybe one of the spots is for them?

Here’s the full list of upcoming films based on Marvel characters, including those being released from other studios:

  • July 26, 2013: The Wolverine (Fox)
  • November 8, 2013:  Thor: The Dark World
  • April 4, 2014:  Captain America: The Winter Soldier
  • May 2, 2014:  The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (Sony)
  • May 23, 2014:  X-Men: Days of Future Past (Fox)
  • August 1, 2014: Guardians of the Galaxy
  • March 6, 2015:  Fantastic Four Reboot (Fox)
  • May 1, 2015:  Avengers 2
  • May 13, 2015: Untitled
  • Nov. 5, 2015: Ant-Man Movie
  • May 6, 2016:  Untitled
  • June 10, 2016: The Amazing Spider-Man 3 (Sony)
  • July 8, 2016: Untitled
  • May 5, 2017:  Untitled
  • May 4, 2018: The Amazing Spider-Man 4 (Sony)
That’s four Marvel movies a year for the next two years, and two each in May 2014 and 2015 (after a Fox moved X-Men: Days of Future Past up to a May release next year, see "Geek Movie Date Shuffle").  That makes the out years look light, with probably more announcements to come.
