The third set of miniatures for WizKids’ popular Star Trek Tactics HeroClix game will be releasing in September. Series III introduces new ships and factions to the game, and will be available as a four vessel starter set or as individual boosters. The second set was released earlier this year (see "'Star Trek Tactics HeroClix: Series II'").
Twenty-eight different pre-painted models will be included in the series, with 11 "common," 10 "uncommon," and 7 "rare" models. Four new factions will be featured: the Bajorans, the Kazon, Species 8472, and the fan-demanded Borg. A new ship type, called "Assimilated Vessels" also appears, which can function on Borg theme teams and has two different team abilities .
The Star Trek Tactics HeroClix Series III Starter Set will include four models: the Federation USS Enterprise-D, the Kazon Olga Razik, the Borg Assimilator 84, and the Borg Scout 255, along with a HeroClix core rulebook and "Powers and Abilities Card," object tokens, and two maps. The suggested retail price will be $24.99.
Models will also be available in boosters, which are packaged as a 12-count countertop display. The suggested retail price will be $4.99 per booster.
Retailers who wish to run in-store events can also order an Organized Play Kit which features three limited edition figures, five play maps, and organized play instructions.
