When asked about his reaction to Fox’s decision to order a TV series pilot based on League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (see "Fox Orders 'LEOG' Pilot") Alan Moore eschewed the tirade in favor of understated humor, telling Entertainment Weekly, "When DC did the Watchmen prequel comics I said all sorts of deeply offensive things about the modern entertainment industry clearly having no ideas of its own and having to go through dustbins and spittoons in the middle of the night to recycle things."
Moore then paused for effect and continued: "The announcement that there is a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen television series hasn’t caused me to drastically alter my opinions. Now it seems that they are recycling things that have already proven not to work."
