Comic-Con News: Warner Bros. has released the extended 4.5-minute trailer for the Kickstarter-funded Veronica Mars movie that was shown on Friday at Comic-Con. The movie became the most widely-funded project in Kickstarter history with more than 91,000 people contributing some $5.7 million as the project surpassed its $2 million goal in just 10 hours (see "'Veronica Mars' Movie Funded").
As can be seen in the trailer the movie takes place some ten years after the events in the TV series (which aired from 2004-2007) when Veronica, who is now working as a corporate lawyer, is drawn back to her old haunts (Neptune) and back to her role as a contemporary Nancy Drew.
One thing that is particularly obvious from the trailer is how genuinely happy the original Veronica Mars cast is to resume playing the characters that they obviously love to portray.
