Cryptozoic Entertainment has revealed details for its boardgame based on the award-winning Ubisoft video game Assassin’s Creed.  The new game is scheduled to release this winter, with the title Assassin’s Creed:  Arena.  The game was originally announced at the Toy Fair in February (see "'Assassin's Creed Board Game'").

Set in Constantinople, the game pits two to four players against each other as they try to identify targets for assassination and eliminate them.  To succeed, the player not only must overcome the other players, but the target’s guards as well.  The action of the game is card driven, with players collecting and using cards to accomplish their goals.

In the announcement, Cryptozoic’s board game brand manager Adam Sblendorio was enthusiastic about working with Ubisoft: "We’re thrilled to work with Ubisoft to bring fans of Assassin’s Creed a board game that captures the spirit of the franchise while also providing a deep and enriching board gaming experience," he said.

Assassin’s Creed:  Arena will have a suggested retail price of $50.
