Max Brooks, the author of World War Z, which was made into a major film starring Brad Pitt, has penned a new, fact-based, historical graphic novel The Harlem Hellfighters that tells the story of 369th Regiment, an African-American unit from Harlem that distinguished itself during World War I fighting in the brutal trench warfare battles in France during the last months of the First World War.
The 160-age The Harlem Hellfighters graphic novel, which features art by Canaan White, is a fictionalized story based on real events. The 369th Regiment spent more time in combat than any other American unit and its members displayed extraordinary valor on the battlefield.
Broadway Books, a division of Random House, is publishing The Harlem Hellfighters graphic novel, which will carry a $16.95 cover price and is due out on April 1st, 2014.
