Arcane Wonders has announced that retailers who pre-order the Mage Wars: Druid vs. Necromancer Expansion (MSRP $39.99) by the order deadline of September 30th, will receive two highly sought-after promo cards ("Plague" and "Altar of the Iron Guard") with every copy of the expansion ordered.  The expansion, which emphasizes two schools of magic that were not highlighted in the core game, was originally supposed to ship in August (see "'Mage Wars: Druid vs. Necromancer Expansion'", but was shifted to October.
 
Spellbook Covers
Arcane Wonders has already sold more than 15,000 units of the original Mage Wars customizable strategy game.  The Mage Wars: Druid vs. Necromancer is the second major expansion for the Mage Wars game and it includes lots of cool features like the new Spellbook covers featuring the Druid’s Treebark and the Necromancer’s Zombieskin.
 
Condition Markers
The set also includes 4 potent new condition markers: Growth, Corrode, Zombie, and Ichthellid LarvaGrowth condition markers can help a creature gain new powers, size, and endurance, while the Corrode marker is the sign of an Acid attack that eats away protective armor.  The Zombie marker enables creatures to keep fighting, but they are under the control of the Necromancer.  Creatures infected with the Ichthelid Larva is now host to the dark creature’s spawn.
 
The deluxe Mage Wars: Druids vs. Necromancer Expansion box contains: 2 new Mages (Druid and Necromancer); 2 Mage Cards & 2 Mage Ability Cards; 216 Spell Cards (with 60 new spells of which 56 are new); 31 punch markers with new conditions.
