After a week filled with cryptic teasers like "Are They...?," "Is She...?,"--which got far less play in the comics press than in the past--Marvel Comics has released Olivier Coipel’s cover for Inhumanity #1 accompanied by the text "They walk among us.  All will be revealed September 18th."  The cover image, which features Karnak shattering a transparent barrier with the King of the Inhumans Black Bolt and the rest of Royal Family in the background, makes clear what most had surmised that Marvel was teasing its post-Infinity Inhumanity event that begins in December.

Relatively little is known about the Inhumanity event, save for the fact that a new core title Inhuman written by Matt Fraction (Hawkeye) and drawn by Joe Madureira (Savage Wolverine), which focuses on the adventures of the Inhuman royal family, will be launched as part of the event (see "Fraction, Madureira on 'Inhuman'").  The trigger for Inhumanity is the release during the Infinity event of the Terrigen Mists, which activate latent genes in millions of otherwise ordinary humans that give them powers from The Inhumans, a fictional race of primordial super-humans created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby who made their first appearance in Fantastic Four #45 in December of 1965 .  Thus the Inhumanity event has the potential to create a world with millions of super-powered beings.

Since Infinity #3 is due out on September 18, it might be the source of revelations about the nature of the post-Infinity Inhumanity event, or perhaps Marvel will just leak the story via USA Today or EW as is their current custom.
