Monte Cook Games has announced the release of the first supplement to its new RPG Numenera, which launched in August after an extremely successful 2012 Kickstarter. The Devil’s Spine is an adventure campaign book, set for October release.
Originally planned as three separate short adventures as stretch goals for the Kickstarter, The Devil’s Spine has evolved into a 96 page, full color, softcover book with three distinct adventures which can be run in any order as part of a mini campaign, or used individually as standalone adventures. The adventures introduce new Ninth World territories not covered in the corebook, as well as including new creatures, items and characters. MSRP is set at $24.99.
The story revolves around the terrifying Devil’s Spine graft which will claim a character’s life. If it is removed, the characters will be sent to the Mechanized Tomb, into a web of Viral Transmissions, into uncharted territory when they go Beyond the Maelstrom.
