Joss Whedon apparently is taking over the cinematic Marvel Universe, not only writing and directing The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron and creating Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for television, but also as the go-to guy for on-set re-writes for Thor: The Dark World.
Whedon "came in to save our lives a couple of times" with scene rewrites on set in London, Thor director Alan Taylor told SFX in a print article (presumably May the Norse Be with You in Issue #240) and reported via ComicBookMovie. "We had a major scene that was not working on the page at all in London, and he basically got airlifted in, like a SWAT team or something. He came down, rewrote the scene, and before he got back to his plane I sort of grabbed him and said, 'And this scene and this scene?' And he rewrote two other scenes that I thought had problems."
Presumably afterwards, Whedon was airlifted back out (one can only hope via the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier) to continue work on the TV series which debuts next Tuesday (see "New 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' Clip") or conference with James Spader (see "James Spader to Play Ultron").
Thor: The Dark World releases in theaters on November 8th (see "New Extended Trailer for 'Thor: The Dark World'").
