Six employees of Archie Comics have filed a lawsuit against co-CEO Nancy Silberkleit in a Westchester County court in New York, the New York Post is reporting.  According to the article, the employees, which include editor Victor Gorelick, say the suit is a "last ditch effort" to eject Silberkleit from the company.

The $32.5 million suit filed on September 30th states, "While World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan did not stop the publication of Archie Comics, the war-like attitude and approach of [Silberkleit] may destroy Archie Comics unless the court intervenes."

"In a destructive, deceitful and deliberate manner, defendant seeks... her self-promotion as the effective "Dictator" over Archie Comics or in default of that, the demise of this iconic publication in American culture," the suit continued.

Citing one outrageous example, employees said that Silberkleit accused a cancer-riddled child visiting with the Ronald McDonald Foundation of stealing comic character Betty Cooper’s wig, when staff had gifted the girl with the hairpiece because her own hair was falling out.

The suit also alleges Silberkleit uses "gender as her personal weapon of choice" by singling out an attractive female coworker and saying "Oh, a pretty one" and also saying to male employees "All you penises think you can run me out."  This complaint echoes comments in a separate legal issue against Silberkleit back in 2011 (see "Archie Comics Files Suit Against Co-CEO").

There is a long string of disputes with Silberkleit; a confidential settlement in the lawsuit between Silberkleit and co-CEO Jon Goldwater was reached last year (see "The Battle for 'Archie' Is Over").
