Robert Auerochs’ Bremerhaven is a nautical-themed economic game set in the German port city. Mayfair Games will distribute this Lookout Games’ title in the U.S. in November.
Bremerhaven is described as being very much a "gamer’s game," with complex features and deep strategy. Each player is responsible for developing their own harbor, using their "influence" cards to acquire ships, goods, and contracts, or to manipulate the value of the various trade goods. Actions in the game earn money, which can be used to expand the player’s harbor to earn more prestige and influence. But money is also an important factor in winning the game, as final scoring is based on money and prestige.
This two to four player game will have an MSRP of $55.00. In addition to the full version of the game, a "short" version and a solitaire version are included.
Mayfair will also begin distributing Uwe Rosenberg’s Caverna, another Lookout title, starting in November (see "Mayfair to Distribute 'Caverna'").
