At a legal conference held over the weekend at USC, Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara touched on a number of topics including the studio’s inability to score a hit with DC Comics characters other than Batman and Superman.  Chastened perhaps by Warner Bros. failed attempts to create big screen franchises based on Green Lantern and Jonah Hex, Tsujihara said that the studio had "huge plans for a number of other DC properties on TV."

Does this mean that the studio feels that, aside from Batman and Superman, the DC characters are best suited to exploitation on the small screen?  Perhaps not, but we are still waiting for the announcement of a slate of DC Comics-based movies to rival that of Marvel and Disney, who long ago announced plans for an ambitious Phase 2 slate of Marvel movies.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tsujihara also reiterated the studio’s oft-expressed desire to find a media outlet for Wonder Woman, stating unequivocally, "We need to get Wonder Woman on the Big Screen or TV."  So fans of the Amazon Princess can retain some hope, though it still appears that after NBC failed to approve Producer David E. Kelley’s Wonder Woman pilot and the CW chose to develop a Flash TV series spinning off of Arrow (see "'Flash' Spin-Off Won't Change 'Arrow'") rather than go with Alan Heinberg’s concept of a series built around a young Wonder Woman, there is no immediate prospect of a Wonder Woman TV series yet.  Is there anyone at Warner Bros. who wishes they had gone ahead with Joss Whedon’s Wonder Woman feature film back in the day?
