20th Century Fox announced release date shifts for several upcoming geek films, including the Fantastic Four reboot, Matthew Vaughn’s Secret Service and the adaptation of Assassin’s Creed, according to Hollywood Reporter.
The Josh Trank directed Fantastic Four has been moved back from March 6, 2015 to June 19, 2015, a more choice summer opening. This will also give Simon Kinberg, the recently assigned writer, more time for the script (see "Simon Kinberg on 'Fantastic Four'").
Taking that March 6, 2015 spot is Secret Service, moving the spy film back from the previously announced November 14, 2014 release date. The Matthew Vaughn adaptation of Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons’ comic series just cast actress Sofia Boutella in a villain role (see "'The Secret Service' Casts Femme Fatale").
Assassin's Creed has also been moved back to August 7, 2015 from June 19, 2015. The action-adventure based on the popular video game has been pushed back already once this year (see "Geek Movie Date Shuffle").
