Variety is reporting that Revolution Studios has acquired the rights to the Jingle Belle graphic novels written by Paul Dini and published by Oni Press.  Revolution plans to turn the story of Santa's disaffected daughter, who accidentally puts Christmas in jeopardy, into a live action film.  So far the studio has not assigned a writer to the Jingle Belle project, which is being co-produced by Adam Sandler's Happy Madison production company.  No casting decisions have been announced yet, but based on the character design for the graphic novel series, Hillary Duff, who plays the popular Lizzie McGuire on TV (and now on the big screen), would be perfect in the title role.

Dini is best known for his work at Warner Brothers where he wrote and produced the Batman: Animated, Batman: Beyond and Justice League cartoon series.  In addition to Jingle Belle for Oni, Dini also wrote a comic series based on the animated Batman show for DC Comics and is currently working on a Witchblade Animated comic for Image (see 'Everything But the Show').
