Atlas Games has announced a new Knightly Tales expansion for its Once Upon a Time storytelling card game which will release in March 2014.
The Knightly Tales expansion adds 55 cards to the collective storytelling game, adding legends of gallant knights and their ladies to the mix with 38 Story Cards and 17 Ending Cards. This set (including cards like Knight, Shrine, Relic, Holy, Lance, Drawbridge, Herald, and Lady Love) can be shuffled into the base game deck to add chivalrous themes and variety to the game. Atlas recommends removing some of the core Story or Ending Cards “for an even stronger knightly feel.”
The tuckbox contains 55 cards, designed by Richard Lambert, Andrew Rilstone, and James Wallis; with art by Omar Rayyan. MSRP is set at $12.95. The base game is for 2 - 6 players, ages 8 and up, and plays in 20 - 40 minutes.
Once Upon a Time- 3rd Edition was featured on Season 2 of TableTop this spring and received a significant bump in sales (see "The 'TableTop' Bump"). ICv2 also reviewed the new edition back in December 2012 (see "Review: 'Once Upon A Time' (Card Game)").
