Z-Man Games has announced the new two-player board game Akrotiri, as well as a reprint of Prophecy, this spring.

Releasing in June, Akrotiri is designed by Jay Cormier & Sen-Foong Lim (Belfort), and combines tile placement, hand management, and pick-up and delivery.  Players are looking to fund excavation of secret temples around the island of Thera, but to fund the digs, players must ship resources to Thera.  Players earn points by excavating bigger temples and locations further away from the main island.  There are also secret goal cards, which can affect the point outcome at the end.

The box contains a starting board, a market board, 2 player aids, 2 boats, 12 temples, 36 land tiles, 36 map cards, 13 goal cards, 32 resource cubes, and money (Drachma) pieces.

The game is for two players, ages 13 and up, and plays in 45 minutes.  MSRP is tentatively set at $29.99.

Z-Man will also be reprinting the adventure and fantasy board game Prophecy this spring.  Previously released by Z-Man in 2002, the game is designed by Vlaada Chvátil (Galaxy Trucker, Dungeon Petz, Tash-Kalar: Arena of Legends).  Players use their character’s skills and magical powers to defeat demons to collect ancient artifacts in order to be crowned king of the land. Release date and MSRP have not been announced.

Z-Man has three other spring releases planned (see "'Fairy Tale 2E' and 'Arboretum' From Z-Man" and "Z-Man Reprinting Popular 'Vikings' Board Game").
