ReedPOP, which produces and manages New York Comic Con, C2E2, Star Wars Celebration and the PAX shows among others, has announced it will bring a comics-only convention to New York City this June.

Titled "Special Edition: NYC," the two day event will take place on June 14 – 15, at the Javits Center North, where NYCC’s Artist Alley is held.  ReedPOP Global SVP Lance Fensterman told CBR he expects daily capacity to be between 10,000 and 15,000 people, a marked contrast from the reported 130,000 attendees at NYCC (see "NYCC as Big as San Diego Comic-Con").

Fensterman also said the show will be a "pure comic-focused show," with concentration on creators, artists, dealers and publishers of comics, and an indie bent.  This will be a contrast with the more general pop culture focus  of New York Comic Con, which absorbed New York Anime Festival in 2012 (see "NYCC Absorbs NYAF").

ReedPop also recently announced a deal with OZ Comic-Con, which will expand show presence in Australia (see "ReedPOP Ties Up with OZ Comic-Con").
