WizKids has announced a second Guardians of the Galaxy HeroClix set, separate from the previously announced comic-based release scheduled for August (see "'Marvel HeroClix: Guardians of the Galaxy'"). This series, releasing in July, will feature characters based on those appearing in the Marvel Studios movie.
The releases will include the 24-Ct Gravity Feed, a Starter Set, and a Movie Mini Game. The three SKUs will release on July 2nd, a month before the movie’s August 1 premiere (see "First 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Trailer").
The single-figure foil packs retail for $2.99. There are 13 different figures, and five figures specifically unique to the core hobby SKU. The rarity breakdown is 8 Common figures, 4 Core-hobby exclusive Rare figures, and 1 core hobby exclusive Chase figure.
The Marvel HeroClix: Guardians of the Galaxy Movie Starter Set includes six figures, two maps, a rulebook, the HeroClix Powers and Abilities card, and tokens. Figure contents have not been announced. MSRP is $24.99.
The Marvel HeroClix: Guardians of the Galaxy Movie Mini Game will include two figures, an exclusive fold-up game board, a quick-start rules sheet, Bystander tokens, and dice. Figure contents have not been announced. MSRP is $9.99.
Marvel just released short character videos and a poster of the main movie team (see "New 30-Second 'Guardians' Profiles and Poster").
