NBC has announced that Heroes will return as a 13-episode stand-alone event miniseries, Heroes Reborn, in 2015. Original creator and executive producer Tim Kring will helm. A digital series will lead into the new story arc.
The original series about ordinary people that discover they have super powers had super ratings the first season (see "'Heroes' Is TV's Top Rookie"), averaging 14.5 million viewers, and although they declined over time, the show was still pulling decent ratings when it was canceled after the fourth season (see "'Heroes' Is Dead").
Digital comics from Aspen, two graphic novels from DC, a magazine from Titan, and figures from Mezco were among the products tied to the first series.
