Dynamite Entertainment has announced two new miniseries debuting in May.  The first is the long-awaited return of Howard Chaykin to The Shadow, and a new Dejah Thoris series spun out of Warlord of Mars #100.

Howard Chaykin's return to the Shadow was announced last year at San Diego Comic Con (see "Dynamite Adds 'Heroes,' New Crime Title, & New Chaykin 'Shadow' Series"), and now details have been announced regarding the new six-issue prequel miniseries The Shadow: Midnight in Moscow, which will be written and drawn by Chaykin, and begins on New Year’s, 1950.  "It's an honor to have another opportunity to write and illustrate an adventure featuring this iconic character," says Chaykin.  "The Shadow features a colorful cast, and a milieu steeped in noirish pulp-or is that pulpy noir?"

Dynamite will also be launching a limited series in May, Dejah of Mars, which sees the Martian Princess on a quest to find a missing John Carter.  The four-issue series will be written by Mark Rahner, with art by Jethro Morales, and covers by Jay Anacleto, Fabiano Neves and Mel Rubi.

"John Carter has rescued Dejah Thoris countless times, and now it's her turn to rescue him," said Rahner.  "After everything she's been through--getting kidnapped by Tharks who wanted her for meat, outwitting a terrorist who aimed to ruin the peace, surviving a suicide mission among Warhoons--Dejah Thoris isn't screwing around.  She's going to find Carter and make whoever took him pay.  And Issus help whoever gets in her way."
