Longtime DC Comics executive Paul Levitz has joined the BOOM! Studios board of directors, the company announced today. Levitz had a 36 year career at DC Comics, capped by seven years as its President and Publisher from 2002 to 2009 (see "Paul Levitz's Incredible 36 Years at DC").
We asked Levitz why he joined the board, and he responded to our editor, Milton Griepp. "It's an interesting company at an exciting time in our field, and a board position should allow me to make a contribution while continuing my teaching, writing and comics scripting for DC. As you know, Milton, from our shared experience on the board of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, a board seat can offer the chance to do very constructive things without the burdens of a full-time position."
