IDW Entertainment has announced it has entered into partnership with Entertainment One Television (eOne) to co-develop, co-fund, and co-produce TV series based on IDW’s library of original properties. Circle of Confusion will lead creative development and production of all projects, with CoC’s Rick Jacobs and David Alpert serving as Executive Producers, based on their existing partnership with IDW Entertainment as announced last October (see "IDW Launches TV Development Division").
IDW and eOne will fully fund development of projects with the intent of securing direct-to-series commitments for network and cable television, with IDW Publishing CEO Ted Adams and IDW Entertainment President David Ozer serving as Executive Producers on the projects, along with eOne CEO John Morayniss and SVP of Filmed Entertainment Benedict Carver.
IDW Entertainment and eOne will jointly represent projects for U.S. network sales, while eOne will handle international distribution. One currently handles international distribution for original scripted series from AMC and Sundance Channel, among others.
Although no specific projects were mentioned in the announcement, IDW previously announced plans to develop Paul Zbyszewski’s Life Undead, J.T. Petty and Stephen Thompson’s Brooklyn Animal Control, and V Wars, edited by Jonathan Maberry as part of the formation of IDW Entertainment.
