Hasbro, Inc. and DreamWorks SKG announced today an agreement in principle to name Hasbro as worldwide master toy and board game licensee for Shrek 2, slated for release in June of 2004, and Sharkslayer, due out in November of the same year. Hasbro intends to develop a line of products in the boys, girls, creative play, plush, board games, and puzzles categories. The product line for Shrek 2 is expected to ship in late spring of 2004, with the Sharkslayer line to follow in the fall. Hasbro's acquisition of Shrek 2 is a change, as products from the first Shrek movie were produced by McFarlane Toys (see McFarlane Fields Diverse Line-Ups, Part 1).
