French artist and author Cyril Pedrosa, who began his career in animation working on Hunchback of Notre Dame and Hercules for Disney, has sold the film rights to his 2008 graphic novel Three Shadows to FilmNation Entertainment, according to Variety.
The black and white graphic novel, which tells the story of a father taking his son on a journey in hopes of cheating death, was published in the U.S. by First Second in 2008 (see "Interview with First Second's Mark Siegel, Part 2") and was nominated for an Eisner (see "Eisner Nominations Released").
