At C2E2, Marvel Comics announced the members of "The All-New Young Guns," a group it sees as the next generation of Marvel superstar artists in the making.
The original Young Guns program debuted back in 2004 (see "Interview with Marvel Publisher Dan Buckley, Pt. II") when it signed up and coming artist talent Jimmy Cheung, Olivier Copiel, David Finch, Trevor Harsine, Adi Granov and Steve McNiven to exclusive deals.
Marvel named Ryan Stegman (Wolverine, Inhuman), Nick Bradshaw (Guardians of the Galaxy), Sara Pichelli (Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Men), Valerio Schiti (Mighty Avengers, New Avengers), Mahmud Asrar (Wolverine and the X-Men), and David Marquez (Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man) as members of the new group.
Each of the "All New Young Guns" will contribute a special variant cover to July’s The Legendary Star Lord #1, whose main cover is done by former "Young Gun" Steve McNiven (see "Marvel Preps New 'Star Lord' Comic & 'Art of Guardians'"). They will also make an appearance at the Special Edition NYC convention in June.
