Tove Jansson’s Moomins are having quite a year, with a new animated film and two special book releases this fall from Drawn and Quarterly.

Moomins On The Riviera is the title of a comedy adventure toon based on the book of the same title, which is being distributed by Paris-based Indie Sales, according to Variety.  The film is produced and directed by Hanna Hemila at Handle Prods. and Xavier Picard at Pictak.  The popular 1940s franchise will see a massive roll-out across the Nordic counties in October, and has also been picked up in Japan and France.  English language distribution has yet to be announced.
