Just ahead of San Diego Comic-Con, Dynamite Entertainment has begun revealing big plans for October releases.  The Kill Shakespeare team of Anthony Del Col and Conor McCreery will partner on another historical literary mash-up miniseries, Sherlock Homes vs. Harry Houdini, and Dynamite will release the art collection The Art of Army of Darkness.

Sherlock Homes vs. Harry Houdini, which pits the literary sleuth against the real-life stage magician, will arrive in October.  Del Col and McCreery will pen the series with art by Carlos Furuzono (Sherlock Homes:  Moriarty Lives).  Initially the two icons will team up to defeat a mysterious mystic bent on destroying Houdini’s career, but soon pride will cause a rift between the two world famous professionals. Variant covers for the first issue will be done by John Cassaday (Planetary), Aaron Campbell (Green Hornet: Year One), and Colton Worley (Jennifer Blood).

Dynamite plans to celebrate 10 years of publishing Army of Darkness comics with a hardcover collection of cover and pin-up artwork with pieces from several famous artists.  The Art of Army of Darkness will include pieces from J. Scott Campbell (Gen 13, Danger Girl), Arthur Suydam (Marvel Zombies), Nick Bradshaw (Wolverine and the X-Men), John Bolton (Marada the She-Wolf), Ben Templesmith (30 Days of Night), Tim Seeley (Hack/Slash), and George Perez (Wonder Woman) among others.  The book’s cover  features artwork from the original movie poster by painter Michael Hussar.
