Stronghold Games will release two expansions for the card drafting game Among the Stars, which debuts August 27 (see “Stronghold Allies with Artipia”): The Ambassadors and Expanding the Alliance, in September and October respectively.
 
Among the Stars: The Ambassadors provides players with a fourth game option – inviting Ambassadors from various alien races to their space station.  The alien ambassadors come with unique strengths and abilities, to help the stations strengthen their bonds of newly –formed alliances.  The expansion includes new location, objective, conflict and alien race cards, as well as materials and rules for adding a fifth and sixth player.  As an expansion, it requires the base game to play.
 
The box contains 162 new cards, 17 tiles, a printed box insert and a rulebook.  The game is for 2-6 players, ages 10 and up, and plays in 30 minutes.  MSRP is $34.95.
 
Among the Stars: Expanding the Alliance (also known as The Promos) provides  all the promotional items that were provided during the initial printing of the game, including cards that were previously only available to customers of the preorder, initial Kickstarter, and convention promos.  Like The Ambassadors expansion, this box contains components to support a fifth and sixth player as well. As an expansion, it requires the base game to play.
 
The box contains  46 special location cards (some with alternate artwork),  The Infestation Conflict set (12 cards + tokens), The Relocation Conflict set (12 cards), 6 objective cards,  alien race cards (Debos, Nyxtos, Ludons), ambassador cards (Ludons, Revuarz), the 6-card Alliance Inspection mini-expansion, 7 reactors cards, and additional components to support the fifth and six players.  The game is for 2-6 players, ages 10 and up, and plays in 30 minutes.  MSRP is $34.95.
