The basic premise of the Fluxx series of card games is that you have a simplistic set of basic rules which are constantly being altered by the cards as they are played.  Eventually, someone stumbles upon victory, either by having the right cards in play when the victory conditions change, or by playing cards to match what the current victory conditions require.  Lots of chaotic, goofy fun, and easy to learn.  Regular Show is also about chaotic goofy fun, which is both good and bad.  The styles mesh well, but you have no solid ground to use as comparison.  Thus, it's chaos piled on chaos.

There have been previous variants of Fluxx, to colorize the game to connect it to a popular creation, such as Cthulhu, Oz or Monty Python.  There have also been Star Fluxx and Zombie Fluxx. Regular Show Fluxx is different, in that while popular, the show is not quite as strong a cult, and people don't go around quoting lines from it everywhere.  While the cards specific to the show are cute and clever, one is just annoying in actual play, and only one good mechanic seems to be derived from events in the show.

This game will serve better as a way of converting Regular Show fans to Fluxx players than it will to convince Fluxx player to watch Regular Show.  The $2 bonus pack is a minor annoyance, since it contains cards useful to the making this variant distinct.
