Garden Thieves Pictures will release filmmaker Ian Fischer’s documentary about legendary comic artist Steve "The Dude" Rude to the home video market on October 7th.

The unrated 91-minute documentary, which includes interviews with Alex Ross, Bill & Linda Reinhold, Mike Baron, John Davis and Milton Griepp, and  Mike Richardson, will be available on VOD and DVD ($24.99).  The DVD will include two commentary tracks: one by Fischer and composer Ross Williams, one by Nexus co-creator Mike Baron; as well as a gallery of Steve Rude’s sketchbooks.

The tone of the film is set by taglines like “Steve Rude’s quest for artistic achievement and perfection comes at a great cost to both his family and him...  Mentally and financially" and "Filmmaker Ian Fischer documents Rude's descent into the world of fine art in Rude Dude, where the artist trades the comic book shop for art gallery walls while dealing with his own personal demons."

The film was shot over three years and documents the career of the co-creator of Nexus, who left the comic industry after 30 years to pursue different lifestyle as a fine artist.
