Palisades Toys displayed the company's first ever Transformers figure at the recently concluded Comic-Con International in San Diego.  A 12' polystone statue of Optimus Prime occupied the place of honor at Palisades' exhibit in San Diego.  To celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the Transformers, Palisades is basing its line of statues on Hasbro's original Transformers action figures.  Each figure in the Palisades' Transformers line comes fully painted and stands approximately twelve inches high.  The statues will all be numbered and limited to initial orders.  The MSRP for Optimus Prime and the rest of the Transformers statues is $149.99.  Optimus Prime will be trucking to retail in late 2003 followed (in four to six week intervals) by statues of Megatron, Arcee, Soundwave, Grimlock, Starscream, Wheel Jack, Shockwave, and Red Alert.

Palisades has already produced a number of superb statues based on Hasbro's G.I.  Joe characters.  Hasbro was obviously pleased with Palisades' work on Joe and decided to have the direct market-savvy Palisades create the high-end collector statues commemorating the Transformers twentieth anniversary.
