Upper Deck Delays Marvel CCG Until Spring

And Avoids A Fourth Quarter Glut

Published: 10/06/2003 12:00am

Upper Deck is delaying the release of its Marvel CCG, originally scheduled for November, until late March or early April 2004.  The delay will allow Upper Deck to tweak its new 'VS.' game system, which it also plans to use in another, soon-to-be-announced, major CCG project.  Upper Deck is also incorporating changes that will provide better support for a Pro Tour level organized play system for the new Marvel game.

By delaying the release of the Marvel CCG, Upper Deck also avoids a glut of fourth quarter CCG releases including launches for the Initial D CCG, the dot.hack CCG, Beyblade CCG, the Yu-Yu Hakusho TCG and new expansions for the Magic CCG, the LOTR CCG, the DBZ CCG, and the Pokemon CCG.
